Privacy Policy

Last updated: 15 June 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Klarity collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our website and services, and sets out your rights under data protection law. By using our services, you agree to the handling of your information as described in this policy.

1. Who we are

Klarity provides a software-as-a-service platform that helps marketing teams monitor how their brand appears within AI answer engines such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

For the purposes of UK data protection law, the data controller is Klarity Ltd, whose registered office is at 167–169 Great Portland Street, 5th Floor, London, W1W 5PF, United Kingdom.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, you can contact us at hello@useklarity.co.

2. Information we collect

We collect and process the following categories of information:

Information you provide to us

When you create an account, request a demo, or contact us, we may collect your name, work email address, company name, and any details you choose to include in your communications with us.

Account and usage data

When you use the platform, we process the brands, competitors, prompts, and settings you configure, along with the results and reports generated for you. We also collect technical information about how you interact with the service, such as pages visited, features used, and the date and time of access.

Device and log data

We automatically collect certain information from your device, including your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, and diagnostic data, which we use to operate, secure, and improve the service.

Payment information

If you purchase a paid plan, payment is handled by our third-party payment processor. We do not store or process your full card details ourselves.

3. How we use your information

We use your information on the following lawful bases under UK GDPR:

To perform our contract with you — to create and manage your account, deliver the service, generate your reports, and provide customer support.

For our legitimate interests — to operate, secure, maintain, and improve the platform, to understand how it is used, to prevent fraud and misuse, and to communicate with you about your account and service updates.

With your consent — where required, for example to send you marketing communications. You can withdraw consent at any time.

To comply with a legal obligation — for example, to retain records required by law or to respond to lawful requests from authorities.

4. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies on our website. These fall into two categories:

Strictly necessary cookies

Required to operate the website, keep you signed in, and keep the service secure. These are always active.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use our website. Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information including your IP address and browsing activity, which it processes on our behalf to provide us with statistics that help us improve our website. We only use these cookies where you have given your consent.

When you first visit our website, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can accept or reject them, and you can change your choice at any time using the cookie preferences option on our website. You can also control cookies through your browser settings. For more information about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see policies.google.com/privacy.

5. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us operate the platform, and only to the extent necessary. These providers act as our processors and are bound by contract to protect your information and use it solely to provide services to us. They currently include:

  • Supabase — hosting, database, user authentication, and the delivery of account-related emails
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google (Google Analytics) — website analytics

To deliver the core service, the platform sends queries to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI, Google, and Perplexity, in order to measure brand visibility. These queries relate to the brands and prompts you configure, not to your personal account information.

We may also disclose information where required to comply with a legal obligation, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will notify you before your information becomes subject to a different policy.

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers are located outside the United Kingdom. Where we transfer your information internationally, we ensure an appropriate safeguard is in place, such as an adequacy decision or the International Data Transfer Agreement (or equivalent standard contractual clauses), so that your information continues to be protected to UK standards.

7. How long we keep your information

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide the service and to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy, including to meet any legal, accounting, or reporting obligations. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. You can ask us to delete your account information at any time, subject to any retention we are legally required to maintain.

8. How we protect your information

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information;
  • request deletion of your information in certain circumstances;
  • object to or request that we restrict our processing of your information;
  • request a copy of your information in a portable, machine-readable format; and
  • withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at hello@useklarity.co. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the timeframes required by law.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection, at ico.org.uk. We would, however, appreciate the chance to address your concerns before you approach the ICO, so please do contact us first.

10. Children's privacy

Our service is intended for businesses and is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Where the changes are significant, we will provide a more prominent notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
